5 Guilty Pleasures
Tagged myself with Bart's meme, so here goes:
MEME: The Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 Guilty Pleasures" and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their 5 Guilty Pleasures as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their names.

1. I absolutely love dancing…Given the proper music, I can ignore anything and anyone around me and just have fun dancing on my own. This makes me feel better instantly, no matter the situation I'm in and is better than any adrenaline rush. If the perfect partner is involved in this picture, the guiltier the pleasure is.

2. I feel great when I’m right. I love debating and convincing people my arguments are the best. I sometimes simply choose a part in a debate just for choosing and for love of arguing. I don’t have to be 100% convinced to want to convince others beyond doubt.

3. I would do anything for traditional Turkish baklava! As far as I am concerned, this is the real Turkish delight…I am getting some delivered directly from Istanbul today, actually! I bet you all envy me!

4. Time spend in beauty salons…It happens so rarely these days with my busy schedule that it has actually become one of my guilty pleasures. As I don’t have much time, I just go once to have it all done, so I enjoy several hours pampering myself.

5. Reading books. It is my ultimate form of relaxation. I enjoy every minute I spend reading, even if these days that is 15 minutes on the way to work and another 15 coming back home. I sometimes enjoy music played softly, other times the outdoor, and others just spending the morning in bed with my book. But each time I might react aggressively if interrupted :).

As I usually do, I will leave the tagging part open. If you think the tag is interesting, please go ahead!

thank you, alina, for the lovely bits of insight you've presented :D

yes, baklava is delicious indeed and almost the food of the gods in my opinion, although i've only ever tried the greek variety...

besides the pampering (which is so good for the soul and so necessary at times), why the beauty salon...? you're so pretty already ;-)

oh dear... you're another addict to the book thing... my congratulations/commiserations my dear... you've joined the club of people who can't and won't stop thinking about the world around them... thank you...

keep well, and sleep well... :D

Bart, trust me, you should try Turkish! :)

The beauty salon because I still need someone to cut my hair, dye it or take care of far more painful stuff like dealing with my eyebrows and the peak of pain: wax! :D

The book thing, yeah I'm in the club! Actually, I am planning to start a new section with a link on my sidebar, a section about the books I read that I would update everytime I finish a new book. So, am waiting for your suggestions for future reads! :)

Hi Alina, I am Beatrice, a Romanian currently living in The Netherlands. I have found your blog today, randomly, and kept reading it for the last 5 hours or so, yeah call me instant addicted. :)
With the baklva thinigie... I hear you!!! I cannot stop myself in adding that it is also my absolute favourite sweet in the world. The real Turkish baklava it is made in the Southern part of Turkey, in Gaziantep. They sell them even in Istanbul and their taste is heavenly. "Baklavaci" is the brandname of that particular shop, if I remember accuratelly. Wish you all the best!

Hi Beatrice, thank you for reading my blog and for also commenting on this post. I have tried several brands (my ex and his boss used to have long contradictions on which is better and never agreed). My favorite Turkish sweet is another one currently. I don't know the english name. My ex described it as something like cheese helva. He encouraged me to try it and I only stopped after half of the box. Not willingly, might I add :)

How's life in the Netherlands for you? Do you also have or intend to have a blog? If you do, send me the link, I am sure I'd simply love it :)

Hi Alina, so sweet of you in taking your time to reply. To answer your question about life in Netherlands, it has been 2 years since I first landed here and I am starting to miss things about Romania, although unfortunately for me, I have no real family left in there to relate to. I actually laughed and cried yesterday reading your beautiful stories and the post that impressed me the most was about why you love your mum so much. :)
Among all the blogs I was checking yesterday, somehow I got hooked up on yours. I can find similarities between you and I, only that you are like I wanted to be when I was 24 heheh ;), and let me tell a secret, I happen to also have a Turkish boyfriend and I can relate to your stories.
I have tried to have a blog some time ago, which was really failing in determining anyone to read it that including myself, simply because it was boring, my life is pretty much boring actually, so I wouldn't be at ease to write about boredom. :)
Have a week as you like it and, with your permission, I'll keep on sneaking in your wonderful blog at times.

2 years, that's a lot! Sorry to hear about not having a real family here, I can imagine that is really hard.

So you also have a Turkish boyfriends..Hmm, my personal opinion is that Turkish men have a very typical charm. Well, certain turkish men, or only those I have met.

A great week to you too and hope to keep in touch. Btw, where exactly in the Netherlands are you? I am only asking because I will be in Amsterdam sometime this summer. :)

Yeah, my bf is also Turkish and they definetely have a certain charm, although they can be quite "sultanish" at times, and that drives the princess in me crazy, hahahhaha.

I live in Alkmaar, a beautiful old city, 40 km away up North from Amsterdam. When you come in The Netherlands, we could meet up for a coffee and I can show you around, also you are more than welcomed in my home. :)

    Hugs

    ps:
in case you want to reach me, here is my yahoo ID, trisi_i.

Hahaha, Sultanish! Now why did I not think of that? You are soo right. I just added you to my YIM list :)

Well, i will spend at least a night in Amsterdam, but I was thinking more like a hostel, as it will be four of us. Anyway, thank you so much for the invitation, you are very kind! :)
