As promised, I’ll post some of the phrases/sentences I wrote down while reading books. The first one is the White Castle, the latest of my readings.
“to see everything as connected with everything else is the addiction of our time”
“everything is three-dimensional, reality has shadows, don’t you see; even the most ordinary and patiently carries his shadow around on his back like a twin”
“reviving and reviewing, sometimes painfully, sometimes happily, a host of memories of this kind, all minor, but pleasant to remember”
“A person should love the life he has chosen enough to call it his own in the end”
“the cupboard full of junk that we call brain”
“Of what importance is it who a man is?...The important thing is what we have done and will do” |
if i might be silly for a moment, i'd put to you the idea that everything has something to do with everything else, that what you do now has implications for the rest of your life, what you say, act or put forward has implications in the lives of the people around you and the environment in which you live...
one is responsible for his/her actions and the decisions he/she takes will affect generations to come... there is no way of denying this unless you also deny the inevitability of creating a future generation together with a partner of your choice...
what happens now affects other individuals... the actions that happen now will resound throughout history in major, minor and/or totally insignificant ways... what you choose now has repercussions, no matter what...
difficult stuff, i'm still grappling but making progress... keep well...
