Political Combat Skills - Romanian Approach
High-rank politicians, just like low-rank ones, have no idea what skills they need to confront their political adversaries. Who cares about great speeches, evidence and strong arguements? Let's offend people by making fun of what they look like. Much easier, indeed, and it also requires significantly less brain work...
In other words, Ludovic Orban, head of the National Liberal Party - Bucharest Branch, said that President Basescu draws attention because he suffers from amblyopia and has killer-like face. He also added that "Basescu has a negative charisma. He does not like to work, all he does is for popularity". More details in EVZ.
OK, and what if Basescu looks like a killer? He is, still, quite popular, and I do not get it how looks make him a bad President...It is statements like this that make me think we have no politicians...
I mean, convince me he is a bad president. Don't tell me he's ugly (never occured my mind that President Basescu was sexy or good looking), cause that will only make him sympathize with him... There are a few flaws in what logic is concerned in statements such as "I am better cause he's ugly and I ain't!"...I would like a political debate that shows Romanian politicians have moved past kindergarden. Is that too much to ask?
how about the new fashion? whenever they don't like someone they shout out 'he's been working for the former security!'. god i'm sick and tired of that, it's like the wolf of today. this list of former security workers that grows longer and longer by the day is sounding more and more dubious to me
