See the Sun
As I am in a mood when I pay way to much attention to the lyrics of songs I listen, here is a little adaptation of Dido's "See the Sun", song emailed to me by Ryan.
I'm comin' 'round to open the blinds You can't hide here any longer My God you need to rinse those puffy eyes You can't last here any longer
And yes they'll ask you where you've been And you'll have to tell them again and again
And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day Well I promise you you'll see the sun again And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness And I promise you you'll see the sun again
Come on take my hand We're going for a walk, I know you can You can wear anything as long as it's not black Please don't mourn forever He's not coming back
And yes they'll ask you where you've been And you'll have to tell them again and again
And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day Well I promise you you'll see the sun again And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness And I promise you you'll see the sun again And I promise you you'll see the sun again
Do you remember telling me you found the sweetest thing of all You said one day this was worth dying for So be thankful you knew him at all But it's no more
And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day Well I promise you you'll see the sun again And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness And I promise you you'll see the sun again And I promise you you'll see the sun again And I promise you you'll see the sun again And I promise you you'll see the sun again I promise you you'll see the sun again
See the sun again See the sun again See the sun again See the sun again
(sorry 'bout the "removed by the author" thingie... here's the post:)
You're welcome. :) And hope it does for you the same good that it did for me. Dido is indeed exceptional, she's amongst my personal favorite artists, her lyrics being down right intimate and personal. You listen to her singing and find yourself in those lyrics. Or feel for her. She's talking to you, or for you. Her songs just touch you... Or me, at least. :) But I, for one, often feel not so right after listening to some Dido. Because "See the Sun" is one of the few songs (that I know of) that are so... reviving and hope-giving, the others being more on the sad side (even "White Flag", in my oppinion). And I just can't stop wondering what must it feel like inside, to write something like "Life for rent", for example? Hmm... Going way off-topic here. I'm sorry. Once again, I'm glad you enjoy this song. And when you see the Sun again (which, between you and me, it's just another star that went to a different sky...), remember not to look directly at it, or it will do some serious damage...
Great lyrics and they match very well under these circumstances. You know you will see the sun and maybe it this will happen even sooner than you expected.
WEll Alina as always your posts touches something deeps inside. I always like the lyrics that sys something. I am glad that hope always shines through the darkest clouds. I am glad you are keeping well and feeling light.
Thanks all for your comments and nice words. Gald you enjoyed the song and will try to post significant lyrics more often, as some words just need to be shared with others!
