The War of Email Storage
The competition on the "free" market leads to price wars or quality high end positioning to convince customers they should buy/pay more for your product. But when it comes to a free and online service, the battle is taken somewhere else. For email specifically, it's storage limit.

When Gmail entered the market, the guys at Google took our eyes with incredibly large storage space. Yahoo reacted instantly by increasing it's limit a bit, while Hotmail had a very, very slow reaction.

At this time though, Google keeps increasing its limits, yet it is its turn to have a slow reaction. Hotmail offspring Windows Live Hotmail is at 5 GB and Yahoo is claiming to be offering unlimited storage, while Gmail is still at about 2,9 GB.

Gizmo for MySpace Fans
As there are many MySpace users out there, judging by the large number of invites I've received lately, I imagine some of them are also fans of MySpace quizzes, surveys and polls as a means of making their page more interactive and yes, more attractive to new readers.

Should you be one of these, Quibblo has everything you need to create and use the quizzes you've had in mind for your readers. And if you'd like to see what you can actually get, here's a quick example:

Evening Read
The New York Times published an interesting article on coffee shop and fast food chains offering wireless internet access to their customers. As the author emphasizes, wi-fi connections are to coffee shops what air conditioning has been to movie theaters a few decades ago.

The article describes the services offered by different companies to their customers, referring to their pricing policies, the support they offer and the imminent lack of security all wireless connections entail.

From what I know about Bucharest, Pizza Hut offers such free services to its customers in most of its restaurants. And I read an article a while ago about a huge redesign plan for all McDonalds restaurants, who would, upon completion, also provide internet services to customers. I am pretty sure the internet is supposed to be free. Which would be a smart choice for Romania, as few of us would pay to get online at McDonalds.
