Hold on to What You've Been Given Lately
This song of KT Tunstall is a new favorite of both D and I. Listened to it on Radio Guerrilla for a few times and we instantly loved it. Enjoy!
Say you to me
You're a bird with an eye for the enemy shining
Searching the land for a hero of a man
You say I need
More than my fair share of attention
But I think you know
That just isn't so

Oh underneath I felt the fire of a burning question
Tearing me apart,
Right from the very start.
And now I see,
That it dont take a trick
Of the light to excite me.
So Strong
So Long
You'll see

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Simplicity,
A heart of gold, an old head and young shoulders
Quiet and lovely,
Becoming part of me.
And now I see from a handful of names and a thousand faces.

One light burning
Fiercely

I was tired of January
Tired of June
I felt a change coming
oh oh
I was tired of January
I was tired of June
I felt a change coming
oh oh
I felt a change coming,
I felt a change coming,
I felt a change coming sooon.

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on to what you know you've got.
Hold on to what you've been given lately.
Hold on 'cause the world will turn if you're ready or not.

Well the world will turn if you're ready or not
Whoa-oh, Yes the world will turn if you're ready or not.

New Reason: Song of the Day
I've posted these lyrics before, I know, but this time is different. They're not just for me, to help me survive and get out of pain keeping me trapped. This time the lyrics are for someone: for D, just D! :)

I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I'm sorry that I hurt you
It's something I must live with everyday
And all the pain I put you through
I wish that I could take it all away
And be the one who catches all your tears
That's why I need you to hear

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you (x4)

I'm not a perfect person
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know

I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

I've found a reason to show
A side of me you didn't know
A reason for all that I do
And the reason is you

Song of the Day
Give me release
witness me
I am outside
give me peace

Heaven holds a sense of wonder
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

Passion choke the flower
'til she cries no more
possessing all the beauty
hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

I can't help this longing
comfort me
I can't hold it all in
if you won't let me

Heaven holds a sense of wonder...
and I wanted to believe
that I'd get caught up
when the rage in me subsides

I am sinking
in this silence
in this white wave
in this silence
I believe
(2 times)

I have seen you
in this white wave
you are silent
you are breathing
in this white wave
I am free
(2 times)

I am free...

Song of the Day
This song is what I keep listening to today. I only understand the tone and the music, not the words. However, I feel it is the right one to be expressing my current state.

Sen önce, tani bil kendini
Saril da kalbine
Sonra beni sev dedi
Hepimiz yanliziz bu yolda
Hayat denilen oyunda
Önce seni sonra beni bul dedi

Kirilma,
Yapma kalbim,
Darilma...
nedeni var herseyin
Suclu, sorumlu arama
Sorma, sorma kalbim sorma
Bilirsin sen aslinda
Yok ki kaybeden askta

Icime süzülür gizlice, mahsum gözyaslarim
Sessiz kalirim hakli gidisine

Dedi ki, yanliziz bu yolda,
Ömür denilen ruyada,
Sen, sen ol tutsak etme aski zamana...

X2
Kirilma,
Yapma kalbim,
Darilma...
nedeni var herseyin
Suclu, sorumlu arama
Sorma, sorma kalbim sorma
Bilirsin sen aslinda
Yok ki kaybedeb askta

Tarkan - Sorma Kalbim

Translation here (I was right, it was the perfect song for my mood). Thank you Matt.

Song of the Day
Today has been a Depeche Mode day mostly. I've been listening to their songs for about 3 hours. And by that you can tell I am a huge fan. So here is the song whose lyrics best suit me right now:

Clean
The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen

Now that I'm clean
You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean

I don't understand
What destiny's planned
I'm starting to grasp
What is in my own hands
I don't claim to know
Where my holiness goes
I just know that I like
What is starting to show

Sometimes

Clean
The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen

Now that I'm clean
You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean

As years go by
All the feelings inside
Twist and they turn
As they ride with the tide
I don't advise
And I don't criticise
I just know what I like
With my own eyes

Sometimes

Clean
The cleanest I've been
An end to the tears
And the in-between years
And the troubles I've seen
Now that I'm clean

Sometimes

You know what I mean
I've broken my fall
Put an end to it all
I've changed my routine
Now I'm clean

Sometimes

Now I'm clean
The cleanest I've been

Song of the Day
A song, todays obsession in a way. I have no idea where exactly I got it from. Ryan or Silviana most surely. It does not matter that much, it is simply a great song.

I can see how you are beautiful, can you feel my eyes on you,
I'm shy and turn my head away
Working late in diner Citylight, I see that you get home alright
Make sure that you can't see me, hoping you will see me

Sometimes I'm wondering why you look me and you blink your eye
You can't be acting like my Dana (can you)
I see you in Citylight diner serving all those meals and then
I see reflections of me in your eye, oh please

Talk to me, show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy can't you see

Obsessed by you, your looks, well, anyway "I would any day die for you",
I write on paper erased away
Still I sit in diner Citylight, drinking coffee or reading lies
Turn my head and I can see you, could that really be you

Sometimes I'm wondering why you look me and you blink your eye
You can't be acting like my Dana?
I see your beautiful smile and I would like to run away from
Reflections of me in your eyes, oh please

Talk to me, show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy can't you see

I see, can't have you, can't leave you, there 'cause I must sometimes see you
And I don't understand how you can keep me in chains
And every waking hour, I feel you taking power
From me and I can't leave
Repeating the scenery over again I can see how you are beautiful, can you feel my eyes on you,
I'm shy and turn my head away

I see your beautiful smile and I would like to run away from
Reflections of me in your eyes, oh please

Talk to me, show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy can't you see,

Oh baby, Talk to me, show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy can't you, I'm shy can't you, I'm shy can't you see

Sometimes I'm wondering why you look me and you blink your eye

Song of the Day
Think of me
think of me fondly, when
we've said goodbye
remember me
once in a while, please
promise me you'll try

When you find,
that once again you long
to take your heart back,
and be free
if you ever find a moment,
spare a thought for me

We never said
our love was evergreen
or as unchanging as the sea...
but if you can still remember,
stop and think of me

Think of all the things
we've shared and seen,
don't think about the things
which might have been

Think of me
think of me waking, silent
and resigned...
imagine me, trying too hard to
put you from my mind...

Recall those days,
look back on all those times,
think of the things
we'll never do...
there will never be a day when
I won't think of you

We never said
our love was evergreen
or as unchanging as the sea...
but please promise me,
that sometimes
you will think of me

Song of the Day
This is the current theme song for my new found inspiration. A little story coming to life with a little help (and nagging) from my friends.

If you take a life do you know what you'll give?
Odds are, you won't like what it is
When the storm arrives, would you be seen with me?
By the merciless eyes I've deceived

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights
But you yourself are nothing so divine
Just next in line

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name

If you come inside things will not be the same
When you return to the night
And if you think you've won
You never saw me change
The game that we all have been playing

I've seen this diamond cut through harder men
Than you yourself
But if you must pretend
You may meet your end

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you ready to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins

Try to hide your hand
Forget how to feel
Forget how to feel

Life is gone with just a spin of the wheel
Spin of the wheel

Arm yourself because no-one else here will save you
The odds will betray you
And I will replace you
You can't deny the prize it may never fulfill you
It longs to kill you
Are you willing to die?

The coldest blood runs through my veins
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name
You know my name

Song of the Day
Another lost and found...

First I loved it because of you, then I loved it because of me...

Apart from Bolero, Seasons and other classics from my ballet lessons, along with Queen and other treasures played by my father, this is one of my earliest favorite songs. I discovered it when I was 10. It was the first song I fell in love with that was not played by my father or during my ballet classes.

So I leave you with the lyrics of "Wind of Change" - Scorpions

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change

The world closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

Chorus:
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

I fallow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring
The freedom bell for peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change
