Deja vu? Really!?
I am know typing on my newly acquired HP notebook. I do love it and am particularly proud of my getting it, finally. Now the modem does not feel useless anymore and is thanking me constantly for returning it to its life purpose, providing and sending bits of data via Internet...

Enough about personalizing the things around me, for now. In what news is concerned, I have big ones: apparently I will also start blogging in business environment. I am now working on creating and then updating a blog for my new company. Yup, I do feel quite good about it and am looking forward to starting it.

I have an issue folks: what do you refer to when saying deja-vu? I thought it was that feeling, when a certain event takes place, and you are completely convinced you have lived it somehow beforehand and that is happening again, in every detail, just as it "happened" before. Well, the world famous Beyonce and Jay-Z have a different opinion on it. Mainly, in this song, the girl is slightly paranoid...She seems to be seeing her beloved everywhere...
Know that I can't get over you
'Cause everything I see is you
And I don't want no substitute
Baby I swear it's Deja Vu
So did they get it wrong? Or the actual deja vu is berried to deep for me to get it?

Seeing things that I know can't be
Am I dreaming? When I saw you walking past me
Almost called your name
Got a better glimpse and then I looked away
It's like I'm losing it
The more I search the song lyrics, the more I come to think the words and described situation have nothing to do with the described phenomenon...Don't get me wrong, I can't say I don't like the rhythm of the song, but if you concentrate on the lyrics you might loose all interest.

And another thing, why, at this moment, aren't the lyrics posted on their site? They do exist on the Internet...

I want a new laptop too :( That's not fair. Now it's time to make the partitions and I hope you will put one of the wallpapers I have sent you.

As for the deja-vu there's an expression in Spanish "la gente se flipa" this means that they are creating their own "rollos mentales". Now seriously, people tend to understand things their way and maybe they have heard the "poetic license" term and they think that it applies to them also. Some of the lyrics of the songs nowadays have nothing to do with the real world and the real meaning of the words. This is the funny part, the good part, the bad part, it depends on each one's opinion.

As for your explanation regarding deja vu, I guess you are quite right.

Shi, thanks, I am currently enjoying the wonders of technology :p

that is so cool blogging for a business. hope you get a lot out of it.

as for the lyrics. i agree, sometimes it's just to rhyme.

hope you are doing well :)

Lorena, I am hoping the same. And yes, this is a clear example of using words with no backing meaning.

I'm doing quite good, but am pretty sure not as good as you sound in your last posts :)

I'm glad your new job is going well.

As for Beyonce and Jay Z. there is a very funny parody of the video to deja vu on You Tube:

Congratulations for the new machine, BTW the modem is not for providing and sending bits and bytes, neither the internet is a medium for this transfer (technically speaking), but you may be a bit right from your functional view
Any how, regarding the déjà vu; there are three popular types of déjà vu’s (Déjà vécu,
Déjà senti and Déjà visité) and I think in the song they meant the later as they try to say that their situation shouldn’t be possible and it will be like out-of-body travel if they got apart.

listen again to the song with this in mind, and you might enjoy it more...

Thanks for the visit. Technically and functionally speaking, every information you send, emails, html codes, photos, can be translated into bits and bytes of data, that is why almost everything has a size (which most of the times is limited, like email attachments). This is not only applied to computer related information, any piece of information can be translated into bits. As the Internet is one of the preferred communication media, this is exactly what we do when using to communicate.

As you need a modem to connect to this medium, I would say it is a sine qua non for this data transfer :)

As for the song, I will listen to it again, reasearch a little bit more and later update this post if there is anything new in my opinion of it...

While you're at it, ask Alanis Morrisette about the meaning of the word "ironic."

    Your new laptop sounds great!

As for Ironic, will give it a thought soon.

From the name of the modem, you can get its function description, which is modulate and demodulate some input (in the computer world this will be some digital signals which we call its stored physical state as bits) over a carrier signal (i.e. coaxial, optical fiber, microwave or wireless and this is the transferring subject, not the modem).
And for the internet, this is a large set computer networks connected via various types of communication mediums (so the internet itself is not a medium, yet the overall conceptual model you might call it a medium)

I’m too picky with these kind of details may be because this is my profession field :)

First of all, without the modem and its connection to your computer, you do not get any transmission. It does not matter that the modem is not the sender, it is the item you need to enable the transfer. Second all, we say television is a medium, however, the television itself is only part of the medium. Same as for the radio, which is also a receiver only. It is a custom convention, as saying the Internet and actually referring to thousands of servers, workstations, cables and other such things representing it. Dividing everything into pieces, that might be fun for you, but as a general statement, the Internet is a medium for data.

Whatever makes you happy Alina :)
The usage of fax/modems is already decayed, as well as the importance for this thread :)

Regardless what people used to use or say, this doesn’t mean that they are always right :)

I’m just picky about using the technical terminologies not in its proper scopes, if you really meant the main component/interface which is responsible for the transmission; you ought to use the word “Network Adapter” which is mapped to the physical layer in the OSI network model, and again think about it as layers, the modem (connection interface) is processing(modulating/demodulating) the data, and the adapter (look up the exact meaning for the word) is pushing/receiving them into/from the media, and there are many other components involved in this process till the data is reached its destination, some of these components are hard (devices) and some of those are soft (protocols and algorithms).

This discussion became far into technical side and I think I’ll be pretty boring person, which I hate to be…
So again whatever makes you happy, I just wanted to clear some technical insights.

    Cheers,

ohh you are actually a Technical Support Engineer, i didn't get this information till now when i checked your profile :)
so i assume that you are hearing what i'm trying to say, i thought that you are some how in the business/marketing/sales side :)

any way, pleased to talk to you and hope i didn't spoil your day with my boring comments:)

    have a good day --,-'{@

Well, that is just the point. I was building an immage that tried to be funny and show my interaction with my little modem interface. It was not about getting into technical details, cause that was simply besides the point. I do no the modem is not necessarily needed, but unfortunately for me, it is the thing I need to establish my connection :)

And yeah, I was a technical support engineer for about a year in an AV company, so I do have an idea of what you are saying, a pretty good one also. Well, I've moved on now and for about two weeks I've been a technical writer for a mail server company. :D

way to go Alina, and the most important thing to me that you managed to come online and write these exciting blogs with or without modem, this is not my concern as long as you are here :)

keep the good work up :)
