Global Worming Art - A New Way to Look at Environmental Problems

"Like all sciences, the study of climate change relies upon a thorough and comprehensive investigation of the data. It is the goal of Global Warming Art to make some of that data accessible to the public through a collection of figures and images that accurately highlight and describe key issues necessary to understanding our world's changing climate."

"Global Warming Art is the result of a dream that the public and educators should have easy access to the same data and results that have framed the scientific discussion of global warming and climate change."

You can learn more about Global Warming Art here. Also, take a look at the images posted and read carefully all the explanations. It might look pretty, but it's not. it's cruel reality. And a great way to create awareness, to my mind.

You know that post I've been telling you about, for which I'm still documenting? You beat me tot it...
Global warming is here, it's a fact, and it's not something you can live with. Yet people tend to somehow ignore it. They see the documentaries, the movies, the sites, the numbers and figures and are just shocked by what they learn. But when everything is over, they just forget about it, like it's the sun burning out in 5000 years. At this rate, we won't need to worry about that, as we won't survive that long.
Global warming is something of the present day. Forget all the data and statistics. Just take a look outside. Didn't anyone notice any changes in the last years? I can remember winters with snow and summers when it was 34ºC outside and people were saying it's hot. Now we're thankful for only 36ºC, as it tends to go above 40ºC in August.
This is the world that we leave to our children and I know it startles me when I think of my unborn ones.
And I for one will have none of that 'But what can I do' nonsense. You can do a lot, trust me. You just have to try.

I can only imagine what it will be like in Maputo if the temperature rises by 5 degrees. Now it's common to hit 41 or 42 degrees in summer, imagne 46??

This is such a depressing subject, and I personally don't think it will get better at all.

Ryan, I really can't wait to read your post on this! I imagine it will be quite great.

Ali, you are right, we are no longer able to make it better. But we can control it in the future. That's what we need to focus on.

The effects of global warming on weather are unpredictable ,it causes rise in temprature and delay in snow fall and more furious hurricans ,on the other hand some say that it may cause another ice age!!!
so it is really a very important subject that needs to be tackled immediately ,if we want to preserve natural life in our planet

Yaser, I thing starting to act is more important than analyzing and debating on this subject. It's been promoted and explained for a long time, and awareness has been created, within limits. Acting might also set a good example and some may follow it.

Regarding the seemingly opposing effects of global warming - afaik ice ages are always immediately preceded by a period in which temperatures rise. So, again afaik, we're just accelerating the start of the next one.

Yes, that is a possibility. As some say, it might happen.
