Sleepless Nights
This is a pretty new experience for me. I've had to deal with quite a few during the past few months. The most recent one was last night. I could not sleep until 6.30 in the morning. I managed to then sleep for about two hours and then got up and left to get the Baiadera tickets. This particular day in the office will prove quite challenging.
What I most hate about insomnia kicking in is that you cannot do anything with some relevance attached to it. Just stay in bed and watch a movie or something. Luckily for me, I had Grey's Anatomy on DVDs to help me through the night.
Going back to more interesting aspects: I will get my very own Linux training with one of the very best (a colleague I appreciate a lot). And yes, today is the big day when SLES 9 will be installed on my computer. Wish me luck...And no kernel panics! I already know what that looks like...
I know the feeling... I've been living like that in the last two or three weeks. I go to sleep at 10 because I'm veeeery tired. At 2 in the morning I wake up and cannot go to sleep again until 5 in the morning. I agree with you, the bad this is that you cannot do anything during these sleepless nights, because you always have the hope to fall asleep in the end. :(
I've tried the milk, tea, sheep counting and nothing works. If you find anything useful please share.
Good luck and don't fall asleep. Segmentation fault may happen if so.
Sorry to hear that, Sim. In your case loosing sleep is really not that good.
I will let you know if i find something to make it work (if the issue persists). But luckily for me, its only a question of occasional nights when I cannot sleep. I hope it stays that way!
Well, if you do find something about sleeping at night (some vampire cure if possible :P), please share, as I also have trouble sleeping at night (I can't got to bed before 3 AM, and can't really wake up before 10-11 AM). But please, no silver bullets :)
What keeps me going is that "a little less light" that happens to be called "night" by the rest of the world. "A little more light", generated by anything at all, including the Sun or a light bulb, doesn't make me sleepy, but just angry. I'm thinking that the solution to my problem (at least) is to get myself tired. So far, I don't seem able to do that but during the day. As soon as the night comes, I'm fresh again. One of these days I should probably see a doctor... As "strage" as this may sound, the doctor may actually have a solution :)
