Time? What is that?
Irene has published a very interesting post about simply ignoring time. About having that "I couldn't care less" attitude towards its passing. And I started to wonder about moments where I wasn't time-bound, checking it every 5 minutes and having everything planned out.
I discovered that does not happen that often. Maybe last night at the ballet, during the second act? Maybe sometimes when I'm really caught in something I love doing...But no, not really, I have not spent at least a few hours not caring about time in a long, long time.
Interestingly enough, Haalis also talking about stopping and not doing or feeling anything for a while.
Yes, I should just forget about time a lot more often. Do you just forget about it? What's the secret behind succeeding in it?
I didn't read the posts you refer to, but one idea that comes to mind (which I'm not able to implement myself, but the idea itself is nice :P) is to tell people that bother you on a nice Saturday morning/afternoon/evening (the entire day if possible), to go... do something with themselves and let you enjoy your day if they don't want to join you (as opposed to you joining them in their weekday-type activity).
Go to your sanctuary, enter your room and think that you still have lots of years to live, that you just one to waste one or two hours, that it doesn't matter that time passes. Forget about the plans (don't spend this time planning things), watch a good movie, read a good book, do this every Saturday afternoon without thinking that you have to take a shower because you have to go out. Forget about it.
Tell me if you can do it. I've tried this a few times. Sometimes it really works.
Well I want to try it. The only problem is most of the hours in my weekend are already planned. I have enough time to waste sleeping and about an hour watching Greys Anatomy. But that is all. I cannot just spend some quality time forgetting about time. Not just yet. But I'll be able to, soon enough :)
