Am I at RISK???
Today's reply is OMG, YES!!! :D By the way , it is not "I don't know much about compuers", it's " I am computer illiterate" ! Has the same meaning, yet it adds a know-it -all touch to your email to tech support!

Well, guys, what can I say! I wish you to never have to explain something in English to a person that does not understand the launguage and has Windows installed in French for example...:D

I only am in real danger in certain days...Those are the days when I most feel like saying: the solution to your problem is to change user and reboot!!!:))

they say time flies, but i know that computers can do that too, if thrown hard enough...

(and here's me thinking that rebooting a computer meant kicking it yet again ;-) )

I guess you need some good therapy Alina. No French will ever understand you and YES it is always a user error, "please replace user. If you are the system administrator please post your CV on ejobs.ro for a new career in the pizza industry.".

Did you find any polite manner to explain someone the difference between right click, click and double click? I'm still at that level, struggling to find my way to the next level.

Maybe we should start a "Anonimous Technical Support Operators" club to help each other and all that stuff.

    Cheers,
    Sim

This reminds me of a friend of mine who worked in tech support> Apparently the main coping technique was to put the caller on hold, shout "Arrgh!" and then carry on with the call.

I don't know how you do it, I just wouldn't have the patience!

Bart, very true! Given the proper amount of anger, they can fly skyhigh, with the speed of light! :)

    Wonderer, hi back! :)

Sim, the part with the pizza job was great! :)As for polite manner, is it polite to tell someone he is a little, you know, idiotic? I just try to be explicit: no mada, that is double-click - as two clicks of the left mouse button, you need to right-click it - one click of the right mouse button...:(

As for the anonimous support group, you migh be right. Do you think it should have user guides, manual, procedures and a KB? :))

Safiya, you eventually get used to it, in certain days. In the rest of the days you just go nuts and scream around the office :D
